It is the mission of the Mississippi Tort Claims Board to provide administrative and technical support for equitable settlement and payment of claims for injury or damage arising out of the torts of governmental entities and their employees while acting within the course and scope of their employment through management of the Tort Claims Fund, legal defense of litigated claims, establishment and maintenance of loss control programs, and oversight of liability coverage plans of all political subdivisions. The Claims Manager for the Board is Bruce Donaldson. He can be reached at 601-359-6248 or Bruce.Donaldson@dfa.ms.gov. The Claims Supervisor is John Frazier. He can be reached at 601-359-2549 or John.Frazier@dfa.ms.gov. The Board is contracted with Canon Cochran Management Services, Inc. to investigate claims made against the State. The three designated investigators are Laura Jackson, Lisa Fouchard, and Teresa Jordan. They may be reached at 601-899-0148. All State agencies are requested to use the attached Liability Claim Reporting Form to report claims to the Board. Loss Control Department |
It is the goal of the Loss Control Department to reduce the numbers and severity of claims brought against State Agencies and the State by providing State Agencies with assistance in the various aspects of Risk Management, Safety, and Loss Control.
